Marty

Marty is a potbelly piglet who was rescued from a domestic violence situation. We had received a phone call that he needed to be removed from his current situation as soon as possible as his life was in danger. With the help of some wonderful volunteers who intervened, fostered and transported him, Marty arrived Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary. Despite the abuse and losses that he has already experienced, Marty is a friendly, trusting and happy little guy. He loves to get his tummy scratched and makes the most ridiculous little snort sounds when he is happy and exploring. For someone so little, it is surprising how loud and demanding he can be! We are so thrilled that he is here with us and trust he will live a healthy and happy life with us at Rosies.

Have you ever seen pigs covered in mud? This is because they use mud as sunscreen. They are not able to sweat, so they use mud to keep cool and protect themselves from sunburn.
